DMC set to maximise energy efficiency to empower businesses

Dubai Maritime City (DMC) has announced plans to activate four substations and 15 berth feeders to maximise energy efficiency, provide better power to ship repair companies and help eliminate the need for generators. The project, which started on April 12, 2023, is expected to be completed within a year.

The activation of these substations and berth feeders is a major step towards increasing the efficiency of energy consumption within the maritime industry. By providing more efficient power to ship repair companies, DMC aims to help reduce the environmental impact of the industry and save AED 4 million per year.

The activation of the substations and berth feeders will bring efficiency, cost savings, and more business to the maritime industry. The increased efficiency of energy consumption will allow for more competitive pricing, making the industry more attractive to customers. This, in turn, will lead to increased business opportunities for ship repair companies within DMC.

The activation of these substations and berth feeders is also in line with Dubai’s Clean Energy Strategy 2050, which aims to increase the share of clean energy in Dubai’s total energy mix to 75% by 2050. DMC’s project will contribute to this strategy by reducing carbon emissions and promoting the use of renewable energy sources.

In conclusion, DMC’s initiative to activate these substations and berth feeders is a significant step towards maximising energy efficiency and reducing the environmental impact of the maritime industry. This project will not only bring cost savings and efficiency but will also contribute to the sustainable development of Dubai.
